The schedule for N.C. was to begin sending out mail ballots this Friday. I learned this fact from listening to NPR and made the meme planning for this day. Today apparently there is some temporary delay due to some RFK.jr nonsense, but N.C. is going to continue with the election, it's not like RFK.jr can stop us from voting.

BTW, the eagle's name is Fiddy. He lives around the block from me in Raleigh. The picture was taken when Fiddy was about to deposit his ballot, I asked him to pose for the meme. Fiddy says he doesn't eat rodents because "that's cat food," but I'm pretty sure I saw him catch a huge rat in the alley behind my house, and he just acts like that never happened.
But he voted early so mad props to Fiddy.
Today, Friday Sept 6, is the scheduled start to early voting in North Carolina.

I wanted to say that although I think the mods closed the Gaza thread, I am thankful that people joined in to have these serious conversations. Because no matter what your perspective is, I read every comment and I feel that everyone that commented there cares about trying to find solutions and figuring out how to do the right thing even when it's hard.
For democracy to work we have to talk to each other, even when it's uncomfortable. Thank you for caring and doing your part. Perhaps you need to slow down a bit to understand averages. Some people make less than $61k, some people make more than $61k, and for the average to work that means that for some that makes less there's got to be others that make more. According to Indeed, that range is between $46k and $82k for FARM HANDS. Not part owners or some other capitalist arrangement, farm hands according to the stats.
By your own admission, there are a good deal of farm workers out there earning a salary of $82k /year, which BTW is higher than lots of people with master's degrees in the city.
