I’ve seen this so much lately. Now anything that resembles high effort must be AI because no way an artist could actually do that on their own. It’s the death of art in more ways than imagined.
- Truly the worst part of AI is all of the accusations against real people and their work. Even comments on Lemmy and elsewhere being accused of being AI, often when it seems the user is autistic or a non-native speaker, at least to me. Artists being accused as well. Even outside of accusations, a lot of commissionable artists are providing timelapse of them making the art in whatever program.

  Idk. Being accused of using an AI is an inconvenience. Having your work stolen by AI seems magnitudes "worse"
  
  Totally agree. A lot of people are adamantly hell-bent on finding if an image is AI or not. Stuck in Plato's cave for real
- There are also tons of people commenting under clearly AI generated pictures that they are „photoshopped“. Those are probably the same people that called videos with face filters photoshopped.

insisting random shit is AI is a weird way to admit you don't know how to spot AI slop

  Just zoom in, I still manage to spot many of them on the wild, they all have a thin feeling of dream
- AI is getting better. This slop phase is nearly done.
  
  i don't think slop is a technology issue, it's people having dogshit taste
  traditional artists have mercifully filtered out the worst of it, but now the floodgates are open

Among other things, Link wearing the wrong outfit should be a dead giveaway it’s more than just an AI upscale/filter.

i hav given up on distinguishing real life images from fake ones, digital ones or still somewhat doable, bt they also continue to become harder to spot...
