Isn't the web version a full client that works without a phone nearby nowadays?
111ReplyI wouldn't install it on my system in any case.
71ReplyStop using Facebook products
47ReplyWhatsApp is owned by Meta right?
29ReplyEven if it exists, then it does not have to be good. Look at Microsoft Teams.
29ReplyIt's a web app, you don't really need a native application for it.
24ReplyMeanwhile in the US and Canada: So, I'll just send an SMS, k?
22ReplyStop using that shit
21Reply"best i can do is a chromium only web app"
18ReplyFacebook couldn't bother making a proper Android app for years. Now you want them to make Linux apps? The likelihood is small...
17ReplyMy MF smartwatch has WhatsApp but still no Linux version.
16ReplyVIBER HAS A LINUX VERSION?!?!
also android is kinda linux
13ReplyYou shouldn't use this app in the first place. It had many data breaches and it copy everything from Telegram (maybe everyone copies, but I don't use other apps). I only mainly use Telegram and Matrix.
13ReplyDiscord on Linux kinda sucks, though. It's more resource demanding than the Windows version and I can't even stream with audio.
12ReplyWhy are we installing Whatsapp to begin with?
12ReplyIts proprietary so that's not a shock
9ReplyThere are plenty of desktop wrappers available for the Web version. I don't use WhatsApp often but from my experience it seems fairly similar to the Windows desktop app
9Replyweb.whatsapp.com works really well
edit: It does not do voice or video but I'm OK switching to my phone for those
9ReplyWrappers are available as snaps/flatpaks
5ReplyUse it in matrix? Or Element One?
5ReplyYou forgot about Matrix clients (and servers).
4ReplyWhatsapp has always been behind the curve. Took them way too long to allow gifs.
2ReplyAnd I still using email
1ReplyYou can install an apps which basically display the WhatsApp webpage like an app, if you use flathub at least
1ReplyWho uses WhatsApp anyway?
