A market for manipulating Reddit using AI have emerged.
Promoting products on reddit by blatantly advertising in the comment section? Who would do such a thing?
As soon as the "just use site:reddit.com to get around SEO bullshit" became public knowledge it was only a matter of time before this happened.
Yeah the marketing rot always follows where the audience is.
Nothing good can remain untainted.
So when did it become public knowledge? When the Google is broken controversy started?

Also, speaking of manipulating comment sections with posts designed to promote products by mentioning them naturally, Academy Award and Golden Globe nominated movie, "Barbie", is now available on Blu-ray and select streaming services.
So the advertisers are basically admitting now that they peddle direct opposition to an actual useful answer to a Google-able question
Like 90% sure this is a direct response to the fact that people have begun appending reddit to their searches to get answers to questions that aren't just Wikipedia or more advertisements.

Capitalism would best be described as neutral evil at best.
Depends on how you use capitalism for alignment. If we view capitalism as necessary for alignment, this is probably lawful neutral if not lawful good. There’s honor in selling the right product and you’re not breaking any rules here. If we view capitalism as unnecessary or even evil, this is much more on the lawful evil side than chaotic. Again, it’s not breaking any rules and it follows a strong code of conduct. It’s hard to view a company that remains in business for any period of time as chaotic because you need a system to systematically take advantage of everything.
The internet used to be a place where I would go in order to get advice on which item to buy, specifically on places like reddit. It is such a shame that so much internet credibility is dying because of bots…
