Not me but: “I was showing the new system to anons father. Have more luck teaching a rock how to float.”
Technology connections did a video on it. Basically the lights which lasted forever either; sucked at giving light and/or sucked at sucking power.
Light manufacturers got together and made a standard which was a sweet spot of power efficiency, longevity and light output. Unfortunately, being decent at all three meant no longer sucking at two to boost longevity.
Bonus panel be like “Now that is it is out…”
I’m currently going through a pretty bad divorce where my wife cheated on me, drained my accounts, lawyered up and send a letter demanding $280,000 and isn’t signing documents or responding to her legal council.
I’d love to get it all finalised and end that chapter of my life but realistically I can’t force her to do anything. I can’t make her sign documents, I can’t make her talk to her lawyer. So ultimately it is what it is.
Frankly, that saying has (since our separation) become an anthem to me. I can understand why you’d think it’s defeatism etc if it’s someone speaking of something they can legitimately do something about but truely sometimes it really is what it is.
Can’t forget rule 4!
- All robots must have red LEDs in their eyes which activate when said robot becomes evil.
DID I HEAR ROCK & STONE?!
The factory must grow!
Yep, this is the same guy who stated he didn’t even know how to say KAAMala, or is it Karmala? No body knows! No body knows…
Thanks for sharing that! That’s a really good explanation for what’s causing it. I’d heard a few different parts to why it’s happening but that post makes it really understandable.
I still have my pledge to SC, ~$25 so not a big one, but I’ve all but lost hope on a release of the full scope of the game as it was set out years ago thanks to the massive amount of feature creep and mismanagement.
Then 99% of those were created on Lemmy.world,
The instance I’m a part of has had issues federating with Lemmy.world for a lot of months now and it sucks because that’s where a large part of the community congregated and so it’s where a lot of content exists.
…legislation that would force women seeking an abortion after 27 weeks and six days – an extremely rare occurrence – to be induced, to deliver the child alive.
Emphasis mine.
That’s 10 weeks early. I’m far from an expert but that’s extremely premature, right? Like, that baby is going to be in a very precarious place for a significant amount of time, yeah?
Again, I’m far from an expert but that seems horrible for literally everyone involved, especially the child! Possibly leading to lifelong health and developmental issues.
[Ben Hood] has previously said that, once born, if the baby “isn’t compatible with life”, it would then be given palliative care.
Takes “born to die” to the extreme.
So you’re saying I’d need to remove 4-5 ribs?
One reason why I was aiming for a white car for my most recent purchase didn’t even get a mention; heat.
My family has always primarily owned coloured cars, dark blue and maroon, but I went from owning a black car to a white one and the cabin temp difference on a 30+°C day was staggering with the white car being much more tolerable.
They’re rebranding to Halo Studios and switching from an in-house engine to Unreal Engine for all future games.
Thanks! I was too lazy to search but curious enough to go to the comments.
Adding to this; Steam provides a hub where players purchase, play and review games. Meaning that I find the reviews to be more genuine.
E.g. every time I hear about a game that reviews decently well getting “review bombed” on Steam it’s because the company, usually the publisher, is fucking over the players in some way. Something that is well reported by players who can leave a product review on the same platform they purchased and played on.
So I wait for Steam release for reviews (on top of it being my preferred platform).
“We’re restarting the Three Mile island reactor and renaming it! [pause for effect] to Copilot!”
Looks like cycle count, manufacture date and first use date are all new. I wonder if the information will be accurate for aftermarket batteries?
I have accounts on two instances and couldn’t figure out why the feed was semi-broken and running out of posts on one. Since then the second instance posted about updating to 19.0 from 18.5, after the update I’m having the same issues as I did with the first server. I’m assuming they made the shift to 19.0 earlier. Seems to work in the respective PWA’s, but not in Mlem.
I’ve logged out and back in with the first affected account without any change and cleared the app cache.
Mlem V1.1.1 iPhone 15PM iOS 17.2
I recently updated to a 15PM from a 12PM and as such am new to always on display (AoD). I’ve found that the first touch after waking from AoD on the Lock Screen registers at first and then is ignored/reversed. Is this normal behaviour that’s seen in all AoD iPhones or something related to my specific phone?
Edit: so I think I’ve found part of the issue. As the screen wakes there’s a short transition animation, if I wait for that to complete plus 1 second or so then it works as intended. If I interact mid-animation then it’ll either not register the input or cancel the input at the end of the animation.
I’ve found the touchscreen sometimes doesn’t register, especially the backspace button on the keyboard for some reason.
I’m considering putting in a report to Apple but don’t want to until I know whether it’s just me or a broader phenomenon.
After updating to V1.1 the grey fill on the vote indicator on compact comments stopped working.
It highlights a bit of an issue that I’ve had since switching to Mlem; I’d love if that upvote icon fill was colour coded the same as an up/downvote. Previously it was just grey which is ok but having it colour coded would visually function better imo.
This is on an iPhone 15PM iOS 17.0.3.
Hi Lemmings, Has anyone here self hosted a SimpleLogin instance? Would you recommend it compared to paying for their service?
I’m looking at starting a test instance of it in the future but I’m curious how well it handles multiple user accounts and multiple domains or whether I need an instance per-user or per-domain.
Is this new? Will delete if not. I recall having to go into the settings app to check on progress.
