tbh every time I clean my glasses from dust and stuff, I remind myself that all that dust would have ended up in my eyes. so I'm kinda glad for the extra protection
It would not, though. I assume your glasses to have a larger surface than your eyes. Additionally, eyelash do are real good job in filtering the air in front of your eye.
Source: was wearing glasses for 25 years before I got my eyes fixed 7 years ago.
Being able to see in the rain or snow would be crazy, but I like my glasses as a fashion thing too... Also, I have transition lenses, so there's that. But, I would be able to wear any sunglasses I want... This is too hard.
The cool thing about contacts is you can get glasses without prescription lenses for the look. And then still wear whatever sunglasses, see in the shower, in the pool (if you're into water or whatever). So many options.
Last time I had my eye appointment I asked for both prescriptions (since I guess they are different sometimes). Got a 3 month supply of contacts since I only use them when I go out and maybe go out 3 days a week, and some nice prescription glasses online. Now the real thing I'm after... Lasik. I had transitions for a year or two, but got so tired of wearing them when I was out for the day with friends- walk outside, fine, go in a shop...dark. By the time we're done in the shop they've just started to fade, then back outside and it's too bright... repeat 😵💫 I even paid for the 'quick' transitions.
My eyelashes are long and they transport oil from my eyelids directly onto the inside of my glasses lenses. It's not a lot but enough to be annoying. I always have these wispy little vertical streaks on my lenses.
I am constantly cleaning my glasses. I'd like to recommend "koala cloths"! Because those standard microfiber cloths are absolute butt & seem to just redistribute smears. Koala cloths cleans out those smudges in seconds!
Seriously: it's a miniscule investment, and you'll thank me once you try it.
