Missing wefwef. Every app has its flaws, but Connect is the more feature-rich.

It's easy to complain about the bugs in every one of them, but let's not forget that for the vast majority of us, we didn't even know that Lemmy ever existed a month ago.

I've used Jerboa for a while, but now I've switched to Liftoff. Loving it so far! Great interface, no lags, and better customization possibilities. Plus, compared to a lot of other apps, it's free software

I've tried a few apps, but I keep going back to Jerboa

Liking Connect so far myself.

Waiting patiently for Sync as I keep using Jerboa.

I'm just waiting for Boost for Lemmy, meanwhile I'm using Connect.

I've been using connect and it's actually quite good and smooth.

I keep trying all of them but keep coming back to Jerboa. It uses it's screen space most efficiently (even with all the customisations of the others) and for me seems to work the best.

Edit: Connect is probably the next best one I've tried on Android (and potentially better functioning than Jerboa), but the font is too bold however small I make it.

Can't find thunder on the Playstore, so far it's either connect or liftoff. Connect works better but liftoff looks better. But I really hope boost for Lemmy will be released soon

I've settled on liftoff until boost is released. Seems to be the best combination of functioning features and nice UI IMO.

I switched from Jerboa to Connect because it crashed a little too often and was a little clunky on the scrolling. Connect doesn't have any of those issues and feels like Infinity so it'll probably be my daily.

I am waiting for boost for Lemmy.

Connect was the smoothest switch from sync for me, they also just added haptic feedback

Which app deals best with hiding already read content? I only found the option in Connect to hide the posts I already scrolled over. Joey for areddit had a post contextual menu item to hide everything above, that was the most convenient to me. Or is there any other technique to not to stare at the same content at each session ?

Currently doing the same. I liked Connect but navigation is a bit confusing so for now sticking with Jerboa. Gonna give other apps a try while I wait for Boost for Lemmy.

Huh, Fennec is the name of my web browser. Which I definitely recommend, it's a fork of Firefox stable with all proprietary and telemetry removed.

First I started with jerboa, but it was a rough start that pushed me to try to develop my own app, quite a fun experience. Besides that, Liftoff and wefwef are the clear leaders here for me, design and feature wise.

I keep hoping for Infinity for Reddit to port to "for Lemmy"/"for kbin", but the original dev has no interest (they're converting to a paid model) and so far no one's seriously thought about forking it.

So I've just been sticking with the mobile webpage. And honestly, it's not that bad. I'm using a few userscripts (mobile Firefox for the win) to clean it up just a tad, and it's honestly pretty good.

Are you planning to update this post, or make a new review post each day? I'm very interested in your results!

you should try subscribing to your home feed in an rss reader for a day too, it's a great feature of lemmy and discourages scrolling forever

the thing i'm finding with the apps is that as the backend is upgraded/patched/changes the apps all respond differently to those changes. on top of that, updates to the apps themselves can cause erratic behavior. i'm looping thru 4 right now just trying to find something consistent.

I use jerboa with blurred nsfw for daily use and connect at home when I don't care so I don't have to mess with any settings...... Until sync comes out!!!

I basically been doing the same. Missing that Sync feel for me. I've tried Lemming, Liftoff and now currently using wefwef. Didn't really like Lemming. Liftoff was an improvement and I'm digging wefwef other than iOS vibe to it.

Next up is connect!

I know this post is talking about Android but for IOS I've been liking Memmy and Wefwef. I'm also really happy to see that there are so many apps in development for both IOS and Android and am curious to see how each develops.

I'm excited for Beyond to be developed. I used Infinity in the past and it was by far the best Reddit client. Had everything I could dream of.

Liftoff has a great interface but I want one account. I'm not logging in to all these instances to comment there.

some apps are good at some things, others are good at some other things, even though their overall purpose is the same.

I'm switching between Jerboa and Liftoff - Can't decide which one I prefer yet as both seem decent apps. I came over from Reddit and used Infinity and Slide fwiw

The nice thing about using multiple apps is that you get tons of updates and improvements (?)

Does wefwef not work on Android?

Just downloaded and tried Liftoff and it looks amazing but it stutters so bad on scrolling on my S23 Ultra I had to uninstall it. Connect still seems the most polished for my taste. Wefwef is really nice to but I still get crashes on it.

I've tried Jerboa, Summit and Liftoff but my daily is wefwef because it has the most complete interface.

Consider throwing Memmy into the ring! It's been my goto over the last few weeks and I am loving it.

Anyone have one that was like Reddit's "Bacon Reader"? That was my go-to app for the site.

Jerboa recently was down for a few days when the Lemmy instance updated. It isn't an issue now but was unusable at that point.

With the latest updates I've just been using the standard web client
