  • Oh, a morning routine! It's my favorite part of the day and something I'm oddly passionate about!

Most importantly, I make sure to go to bed at a reasonable time the night before, and i leave my curtains open to let the sunlight wake me up naturally. Just in case I'm extra sleepy, I set a vibration alarm on my phone and place it under my pillow for backup

    After I wake up, I:

    1. Head to the restroom
    2. Sluggishly make my bed
    3. Go downstairs, drink a glass of water to hydrate, and then brew some coffee
    4. feed the cats
    5. Then I drink coffee and watch TV for a bit while I wake up and wait for the caffiene to kick in
    6. Shower, brush teeth, apply deoderant, style hair, shave stubble, apply cologne

I have really shit mental health, so I have to take extra care of myself and be very intentional about my actions. My morning routine is a sacred part of the day and helps me enjoy being alive :)

  • Pray for one more second of ecstatic comfort and numbness to the world. Contemplate why the world is the way it is. It's not right.

  • Wake up Shit Check the stonk markets Get out of bed

    • But a serious answer, I wake up Use restroom while scrolling lemmy and checking news Brush teeth Drink tall glass of water Drink small glass of orange juice (~50-100ml) Make and eat breakfast (bagel/toast and cheese/ eggs) while reading on phone Drink coffee (prepped the night before to brew automatically when I wake up) Get dressed and pack backpack Bike to work

    1. Go to the toilet
    2. Shower
    3. Get dressed
    4. Take the dog out
    5. Feed the pup
    6. Make an espresso
    7. Sit in my chair, drink my espresso, and play the NYT games
  • Turn off my alarm, go back to bed with my phone and convince myself that I'll just have a quick look at Lemmy, then decide to check the news and proceed to surf around the Internet for the next two hours until the threat of pissing myself forces me to finally get up and rush to the toilet.

  • Wake up, bathroom things, put on running clothes, put on running shoes, get rest of running gear, and then go for a run. Come home shower, drink my green drink, then work.

  • Go back to bed for an hour or more. Then force myself out of bed while I'm freezing (even in a warm room). Pee. Get on clothes. Go outside to buy a iced coffee (more for the morning walk than for the coffee).

Heres a weird thing.. Step 1 and 2 has been so much easier lately. After I started taking 2g fast-release melatonin pills before bed. Why would pills for falling asleep faster help me waking up 7.5 hours later? I'm hoping struggling with those two steps can be a thing of the past, if this continues. I hate how grumpy (and cold, and slow) I usually am every darn morning.

  • Pee then get in the shower. Feed the dog, brush teeth (possibly shave), Then I'm usually ready for my day.
