Is there a term for this? When an actor is playing someone who is essentially the same character no matter what movie it is in (even in different thematical universes)?
- It’s called getting type cast.
  
  This is one level beyond type casting though, unless Hector is a well established role.

  in technical acting terms it's usually referred to as "playing close to self"

Sooooo many of these Hectors are correct, but some of them are not.
That guy is Noel Gugliemi, and he played "Gang Leader" on The Animal, not Hector.
Price of Glory had a Hector, but that was played by Sal Lopez! Totally different looking dude!
He was a lot of Hectors but not quite that many.
- He should still legally change his name to Hector.

I searched for "Hector' in the imdb app, he shows up as a result after 5 other people named Hector.

I'm honestly convinced he's just really bad at remembering character names so everyone just renames his character Hector
