  • One of the most insane titles just dropped in Dutch news. One of the news outlets says this (translated): 'Dubious plan of Israel: it seems that Palestinian presence in Gaza nears its end'

    Palestinian. Presence. Nears. Its. End.

    What the fuck

  • Belgian football cup final was yesterday with a notorious right wing club being one of the teams. Their hooligans went into one of the more infamous Brussels migrant areas and started beating people up.

A left wing protest of 20 people gets tracked with drones and stuff but this could happen, because why??? Some of those who burn crosses etc

Anyway last week was May Day and Vijay Prashad gave a nice speech at our rally. Afterwards I went to check the socdem speech and it was all 'they are taking your pensions and your rights blah blah' and I was like 'who is they? You're in the government man'

  • The ruling neolib party in Belgium, N-VA, is finally having a moment of infighting regarding Palestine. Some of em can't look away anymore.

    • Don't worry, their consciences will be soothed by the direct deposit notification hitting their account when a political donation goes through.

  • Gringo pope is an hilarious outcome at this point in time, anyone knows anything about him?

A maga pope could cause some serious fractures within the latin american catholic base.

  • I don't ever want to hear straight men talk about how others are insecure or whatever as they themselves constantly find themselves amazed by a dude that yells at them that 'LIONS HUNT, YOU ARE A LION' and then find themselves dipping their face and their nuts in an ice bath at 4 am. Real clown shit my dudes.

    • Ice bath at 4am is great for getting sober before work; that's about it though.

  • Gathered all of my coworkers to discuss the making of a plan to undermine our management as our working conditions are horrendous. And we did come up with a proposal. If they won't listen or the answer isn't okay for us, we will take further action. And if that doesn't work, we will deny them their authority and start working on our own agreed upon terms.

Gotta love a good worker uprising don't we.

  • So I am walking (at a graduation ceremony) this weekend, it feels hollow though given I still have my entire masters paper to write, and that feels pointless because I am watching the entire field I am a part in get dismantled infront of my eyes.

  • He is Charlie from Congo who joined the march in Vladivostok with a portrait of his grandfather, a hero of World War II.

  • Socdes over here launched a campaign for Palestina all of a sudden only to vote against pro Palestinian measures in parliament

  • It's scary how little rain we had this year so far. I can think of maybe a day or five with some rain. And nobody seems to care.

    • same situation in my region, its especially distressing since all our economy revolves around agriculture. i can count with my hands the times it has rained the past 3 years.

    • And every week it'll be like 'there's going to be rain this week' only for it to be a blue sky with full sun

  • Just finished reading The Vegeterian by Han Kang. I think more people should read it but to say it was a fun book goes too far. Disturbing is a better word I guess.

Ultimately it is a critique of the societal role of women in (Korean) society. Also important was the idea that the ultimate enforcer of societal roles is violence and that those who will reject it will be subjected to violence, while at the same time receive another form of violence for not rejecting it.

  • There's nothing funnier than going into an unpopular opinion thread and then seeing people get mad at a take they don't agree with

  • "Amongst the flowers I

am alone with my pot of wine

    drinking by myself; then lifting

my cup I asked the moon

to drink with me, its reflection

and mine in the wine cup, just

the three of us; then I sigh

    for the moon cannot drink,

and my shadow goes emptily along

with me never saying a word."
