So grounded. So humble.
So grounded. So humble.
So grounded. So humble.
"Rich person that has everything the working class suffers to obtain, culturally appropriates the experiences of the working class to benefit themselves."
Rich people will steal anything.
"I like pretending to be poor just like the little people I step on to attain my wealth. It's a great change of pace!"
sometimes i like to strap 4 prosthetic legs to my hips and carry around pine needles in a pair of tweezers, after which i pour molten aluminum into an ant nest
"I want to live like common people. I want to do whatever common people do."
The William Shatner version of this is really good. Really spits out the "poor is cool" part

And in an instance, my brain was turned in to Pulp
Nice. I’ve been planning for an extended period of being homeless, starving, and working on my interpersonal skills by relying on strangers for basic needs.
Oh, wait, not planning, I meant bracing. Silly me.
So brave 🥹
Not a joke tho
No one should have this privilege to begin with. Society should work to create a livable experience for everyone instead of constantly making comfort and stability an exclusive club.
For much of history, comfort and stability wasn't available to anyone, at least a large portion of society today in developed counties could claim that (anything lower middle class and up).
Things could certainly be better, I'm just pointing out that things are a lot better than many doomers claim. This lady is certainly super entitled, but the fact that the average person can afford to fly across the world is pretty awesome.
The rich are constantly clawing more of that comfort away from the “more fortunate” middle class you speak of as well as the poor just to add to a score card. Every step of improvement is against their lust for all to be their slaves in one way or another. The more complacent and content people are with their gains, the more the powerful will take. The doomers as you call them understand that all gains are tenuous. The rich are parasites.

And, for an instant, she stared directly into those soft brown eyes and knew, with an instinctive mammalian certainty, that LinkedIn clout chasers were no longer even remotely human.

BURN CORPO SHIT
"whisper networks of power players" doesn't set any alarm bells off for you? When you see something like that happening, you don't think, even for one second, "everyone in this room should become a fine pink mist very quickly." You don't think that?? You just go along with it and try to get some power for yourself?
PATHETIC
I'm just pretending to be poor and didn't lose it all on Tesla futures.
no no see, she's founded three six-figure companies since middle school
Oooh i like this one lol
Mah, hailed by Forbes as a "wildly successful serial entrepreneur" who launched her first six-figure business in middle school, has built a business empire worth over $500 million. Despite these accomplishments, the 32-year-old describes herself as a “struggling entrepreneur.”
"Does my life sound like a fairy tale? When I hang out with aspiring entrepreneurs in college, they say they want my life. But my best friends who know me best almost always say they would HATE my life," Mah wrote candidly in her post.
She revealed working a minimum of 60 hours a week and grappling with what she calls "accomplishment dysmorphia." Mah also shared deeply personal struggles, including the pain of losing an ex-boyfriend to suicide and her ongoing battle with comparing herself to others.
gee I wonder if the boyfriend killed himself due to ending up with a relentless shark-eyed clout chaser with a soul so dark & empty a thousand universes in full bloom could never hope to fill it 🫢

OH DEAR: https://archive.ph/263Z3
Crazy, when I want to be grounded I just connect myself to the ground pin on my socket.
No.. I am not joking sadly https://groundingofficial.com/
i'm in a community for minimalist shoes/barefooting and this shit is the bane of our existence, every now and then someone joins and starts talking about grounding and it's miserable how few people are willing to firmly call it out as batshit nonsense
people seemingly can't do something unusual without a magical justification, "it feels nice" or "it's what we're evolved for" isn't enough, it's gotta be all spiritual and pseudoscientific apparently.
LMAO WTF is this?? xD. This website screams "healthcare scam", the spin to win wheel pop-up is the cherry on top.
I hope no one actually falls for this (please let me have this fantasy thx)
I have friends who sleep on a pile of wires…
I especially like that they claim electronics burst into flames if they're not grounded, because the electrons have nowhere to go.
Which, let's ignore the complete misunderstanding of how electricity works for a moment, but if they truly believe the ground pin does something functionally, how do they ignore all the shit that only has a two prong plug?
If grounding doesn't satisfy you, you may wanna try sounding.
Why not both? Take a long double sided pin, one end goes in the ground socket, the other...
That's hilarious. If you actually bought into this BS, you could just walk outside barefoot, it's free and literally everyone has access.
best part? that has actual physical benefits and (after getting used to it obviously) it feels fucking lovely to walk through nature.
nothing beats soft moss or a lush lawn, my god
This is in addition. Like if you are at home or a hotel and want to be "grounded"
Also, they have grounding shoes! Which are shows with a few small metal rods going through the bottom, so that when you wear them you are still electrically connected to the ground (which means they assume you don't wear socks???)
“It’s no wonder [bad things] rates are on the rise! It must be because of not being barefoot on the grass!”
Yea, not uhhhh all this fucking horseshit.
LMAO WTF is this?? xD. This website screams "healthcare scam", the spin to win wheel pop-up is the cherry on top.
I hope no one actually falls for this (please let me have this fantasy thx)
"entrepreneur playing the long game" ok fuck right off Jessica, in my country we say "stories made up in the beer garden"
If only she would ground herself in reality starting from the top floor of her skyscraper
Economy for fun. Mmmm, kinky. Make sure you have a safe word.
I just checked LinkedIn. She's a real person and this is a real post and there are 83 other real comments from her contacts agreeing with her and praising her. WTF.
Linkedin is the absolutely worst shithole socialmedia that has ever been created. 4chan is more down to earth. The idea in the beginning was great. Make it easier for people to create a network in order to get hired. Unfortunately that just leads to the nastiest of asskissing of capitalism in order to get seen.
It's so confused. "Subway instead of drive" sure, because it's faster and easier. "Flying like a sardine instead of a human" what are you trying to prove?
I'm a 1,90m dude, not particularly slender, bigger than 95% of humans out there. I fly economy most of the time (every time I have to pay for it myself). Sure you don't get a suite, but what sardines are you talking about? It's really not that bad. Get some videos on your phone, noise canceling headphones, and it's just fine. It's really not worse than my own car, space wise.
Well, she seems to want to understand regular people, which is good. But there can't be a worse display of that then thinking flying economy is fun, goddamn.
What really matters is actually feeling that superiority when you get on a subway with the peasants.
Damn imagine flying economy. With the peasants /s
It's nice to take a break from the whisper networks of power players
Entrepreneur, your parents are rich, got it. Linkedin influencers, is there a more useless idiot?
What I really appreciate is her humility.
"Ah, riding the subway carriage with the undesirables. So freeing of burdens like spa appointments and dinner at Dorsia. Just pure animalistic travel."
Now excuse me, I have to return some tapes.
"Everybody hates a tourist"
OR this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ainyK6fXku0
Honestly not sure which is better.
Same energy:
This would be a lot more meaningful if she did that old trope and straight-up switched places with someone for the day. Eat what they would've eaten, travel how and where they would have traveled, stay where they would have stayed, and have the same amount of daily spending money they would normally have had (and if that number's zero, welp, guess it's good she's such a hard worker. I'm sure she she'll be fine.)
Dear Ms. Mah,
It's nice to want to understand what it's like to be a poor person, but you know what would actually help poor people? Sharing a bit of that excess you clearly enjoy. Come back and brag after you do a bit of that, then maybe we could talk.
Sincerely,
Economy-flying, home-cooking, subway riders.
I think she wants to cope with her downgrade or something along the lines...
Oh really? If you're really so down to earth, eat this hot pocket.
They got rid of the motherfucking crisping sleeves! I'm pissed.
The real life person from Pulp's Common People, still a banger.
This post was a bit of a roller coaster, and I’m still trying to decide what I think about the full linkedin text.
what really matters
If they really matter, why don’t you make decisions that prioritize that stuff over your career and hollow social status?
Words vs actions. Tale as old as time.
But then for some reason I clicked on the LinkedIn link others shared. Most of the way down the post I saw these paragraphs that make me think there may be hope for her yet:
I’ve sold off so many things I didn’t need—including a sports car that, truthfully, just made it harder for people to connect with me. And harder for me to connect with myself.
I made a conscious decision: I want to live a life centered around the fundamentals. Real relationships. Honest work. Good food. Movement. Curiosity. Quiet. Integrity.
It’s a journey I’m still on, and I’m far from perfect. But I can feel the shift. And I think others can too.
I am way down this road myself. But I haven’t sold off any sports cars. In fact, I think I might acquire one. For good reasons of course, including connecting better with myself any my family. I like driving and my son likes windows-down joyrides. Might have to replace the Mazda3 with an MX-5!
Flying non-economy is just way too expensive. People that cannot be uncomfortable for a single flight so they'll pay double the price do not need that kind of money.
Depends. Sometimes flying in a higher class means you can sleep comfortably and save a hotel night, or work a day more, or meet a deadline. Same reason taxis can sometimes be the right solution, despite being more expensive than public transport.
UwU
a lunatic? completely. but this is almost a valuable message to break through to that echo chamber.
Not really. It's more an attempt to prove that rich people and poor people are vibing together so the poors don't revolt.
Flying economy just for fun?
It is just her humble bragging about being rich by cosplaying as a regular person.
That's pretty much what I was thinking. Wish we poor plebs could vosplay as rich without maxing out ourncredit cards for life.
yeah, it's ridiculous - but the core messaging is "money insulates you from reality" and that's something these people need to hear.
You'll never live like Common People
It is just her humble bragging about being rich by cosplaying as a regular person.
Pretending to be rich yet grounded while actually being neither.
It's her justifying to herself that whatever success she previously had and just lost was a choice, not a failure on her part. Clearly her business took a turn for the worse.
No leg room and screaming children just for giggles 🤭 hehehe
This is on par with the Greek stoics, idle rich fuckers who would deprive themselves of luxuries "for a while" ... and then congratulate themselves for that deprivation when they got back to doing their regular idle rich fucker shit.
Holy shit I did not remember this version! Glorious, thank you!
quietly nudges an old tent and sleeping bags out of sight
Yeah who would want to deprive themselves of luxuries for awhile, and then reminisce about the experience later!?
😐
Came here for this cover of this song.
So they’re unemployed and pretending that they’re just trying to ground themselves.
Might have just been demoted for incompetency
Either that or she's an actual rich person and just cosplaying being poor because there's a lot of rich fucks who like to backpat themselves for their "asceticism".
I find the cooking one weird, because the food you cook for yourself is usually the best. I know exactly how cheesy I like my pasta sauce, and how big I like the chunks of chicken sliced in my curry, and what ratio of spices I like in my fajitas. I'm not even that good a cook. I can't imagine having enough money to want to stop doing that.
Imagine you have a private chef who makes your dishes exactly how you would do it for yourself, in your own home. I like cooking, I’m fairly good at it, but this would be a hard option to beat
I’ve gotten depressed enough (and my kitchen at my new place is very shit) that I don’t cook that much for myself anymore. My wife still keeps it up sometimes and understands that I hate our closed off kitchen. Also, it’s a simple walk down the street to a food truck or a 2 min car ride to get fun instant ramen then I can make a soft boiled egg.
The money is comfortable but I want to cook more again. I miss it.
But how are you supposed to enjoy that food without an obsequious NPC to cut your steak for you? Is it even eating without an envious audience?
The food at the really fancy restaurants is really fucking good. I'm a pretty good cook and baker, and if all my time was taken up with something that pulled in over $1MM a year, you bet your ass I'd sup at such schmancy-ass establishments ... for a few years until I can just retire, then start cooking again with all that knowledge under my belt.
You might not be that good a cook by your own admission, but some people can't cook at all. They just never learned it, and they'll just burn the food.
I had a coworker who could only cook chicken. The only way she knew how to cook it was boiling it in a saucepan on high heat for about two hours, like her mom did. No salt, no pepper, no seasoning at all.

God, I would wear my hand out punching every one of those smug cunts. "3X exit founder, relentlessly resourceful".
these are the people I wouldn't deign to eat when the time comes, even if I were starving.
and that time... it is coming.
"Exit founder", AKA "my golden parachute is firmly welded to my back at all times."
Enough ragebait for the day, and I just woke up…
Most humble LinkedIn lunanic

Fame? I'm sorry but who you is?

Gottem.
Ironically probably written with genAI
I mean, getting rich people to reduce their waste output isn’t the worst thing in the world.
Definitely better than the “wE aLl HaVe ThE sAmE 24 hOuRs” hustle grindset nobody-wants-to-work bullshit.
The we all have the same 24 hours thing is so true! From a different angle though
Some of us need to take care of children, or perhaps elders. Cook food. Commute to work and back while the boss has home office privileges because he "works so hard".
We all have the same 24 hours, but some of us have obligations we can't offload, or aren't rich enough to offload.
If she is rich, she ain't doing it
She is likely though just a normie cosplaying being in the club
Basic, indeed.
Insufferable.
Wow you live life. How thought provoking. Meanwhile I am enjoying cheap ramen watching chefs eat amazing Spanish cuisine and.....
Now I've read the second part. Go be in wild nature for a month without digital devices or spent 2 weeks somewhere far out.
I needed to get humble when I was a pre-adult. It changed me, I wanted it to change me. Happy I got the opportunity to do so.
People like this??? I am at loss of words. All the things she describes are not thrilling at all (for me). It seems like some people are a "person" instead of a "human". IDK how to explain it but it really is like that.
This reads like she was living outside of her means and recently was forced to return to her financial reality, and is framing it as a choice she made lol
