I'm not defending AI, but I've seen Excel manage worse on its own. Granted, it's almost always my fault for not fully understanding the enigmatic systems that power its logic.
It's amazing what you can do with Excel if you know how. It makes it so easy to analyze complex data sets, accidentally summon the Dark Lord, create pivot tables and graphs, etc.
(furious scribbling in the scifi worldbuilding notes) "In 2050, the names of the months got inadvertently legally changed when a megacorporation released a new version of their office suite and silently corrupted thousands of government document drafts."
When I was taking my introductory courses in computer science over 20 years ago, they told me to not use Excel if you can avoid it, because it's not very, you know, precise. So I'm well aware that this is an ancient joke. Excel will fuck your data up - AI is just another way to do it.
But it is a potential scifi plot point.
However, I will concede that it's probably not a scifi plot point for too long. Worse things have already happened.
Is this real? Literally never seen anything this bad myself. Granted I don't use Excel or many other ms products. GitHub copilot would literally never be this bad though
It's kind of funny... everyone using AI right now are just beta testers who aren't getting paid to beta test said AI. Better yet, many people are actually paying subscriptions to be beta testers of said AI. Kind of like buying name brand clothes with their logo on the front and or back.. you're just advertising and not getting paid for it. A bunch of walking billboards lol.
I mean it's currently kinda ridiculously bad sometimes but you gotta remember this this level AI has been around for like less than 2 years, it's going to be a lot better in few years. chatgpt got launched in november 2022 and look at the leaps it has made in that time
but why the fuck did they put it anywhere at that state? unless it's their strategy to get data to improve the ai, would make sense. kinda shitty move though, classic microsoft
