Elon's companies have been successful despite his input, not because of it. If you're interested, do some reading on how middle-management protected their teams from his nonsense in both Tesla and SpaceX, basically just feeding him bullshit that sounded good and ignoring him whenever possible. Those people are why the companies have thrived.
Shit, just look at Twitter before and after. The valuation difference is staggering.
I tell people this all the time. There are people who have the job of distracting musk like a 3 year old. They don’t believe it and continue to worship him. They act like he personally invented everything and refuse to accept the truth. The only thing he actually invented was the cybertruck.
Did he actually invent the Cybertruck? He drew the world’s shittiest picture that was all straight lines and then made a bunch of toddler-level claims about its abilities while demanding results from the teams of real people that actually had to make his nonsense even somewhat functional.
People who deserve the title of inventor actually do the fucking work. He just said “and it’ll be invincible and climb over mountains and can pull GOD and be SO COOL”
If you have a startup and someone offers you 9 figures so they're the CEO and you still run the day to day...
You'd be an idiot to risk it, because any number of billion dollar companies can fuck you over thru innumerable ways.
So every once and a while someone with shit tier risk assessment lucks out and suddenly becomes unimaginable rich. And those are the people making offers on the next generation of startups.
The system is set up so the worst people possible run shit. Because no sane person would keep "letting it ride" to the point they make billions, and a crazy person who does becomes too big to fail. And once they get to that point, they've convinced themselves no one else is smart enough to play Russian roulette 100 times in a row.
At that point they've conned themselves into really believing they're geniuses who know more than anyone.
...wait, actually this has the potential to be amazing! I remember the early days of online gaming, and gamers for the most part were some of the most welcoming and friendly people I've ever been around.
Something changed, and 'gamer' became a toxic word, and all but niche gaming communities kinda went to shit.
If Elon makes some cringe-ass MMO or something, it will act as a sponge to soak up all the toxic assholes from other gaming communities.
He was always a "lie, lie and lie until you make it" kind of guy, it's just that in the last couple of years he's been doing it widely enough and long enough that the real results of enough of his lies came though and enough people started suspecting his words and looking at them more carefully and spotting the lying early.
As the saying goes, "you can deceive some people all of the time or all people some of the time, but you can't deceive all people all of the time" - and at some point, when he became more widely known, he seems to have gone from the first mode to the second and by now he's run out of time.
They might actually get along. The CEOs of both happen to be hypocritical asswipes who think providing a worse product and complaining about competition will give them the monopoly they're pretending to not want.
You play as doge and collect dogecoins to spend on memes. The game is called X and it runs a crypto miner on your gpu when you play it (you get coins in game, Elon gets coins in real life).
You can pay for X premium for $10/month which unlocks cosmetics and lets you access the members-only chatroom
The cosmetics are all unique and non-fungible, and can be resold to other X premium users for real-world money in the form of credit that can be used to buy different tokens cosmetics.
I mean he already said the word AI which means he is going to likely favor output volume over the love indie devs and old companies poured into their games. So chances are very slim. Knowing him, I guess the game will be about some genius who tries to save the world and go to Mars and be the sole male responsible for repopulation. So yeah, it might turn into a Larry game which takes itself too seriously.
He's made it abundantly clear how much he despises the entire concept of labor, of having to pay money to people to do the things that actually make a company work. He will not be able to build a company that actually makes games with that kind of disdain for the single most important resource required to make them. And his strategy of acquiring an existing company and gutting it afterwards won't be nearly as effective in the games industry, where you have to be continuously producing NEW content.
I loved it when Amazon, Google, and Netflix got into the gaming industry and tried to throw billions of dollars and their startup software expertise to "revolutionize" game studios.
Releasing even bad games is already a feat. Considering how Musk doesn't know how to run a web development company I would be surprised if his "game studio" releases anything. The only way that company releases anything is if Musk won't be involved, and we know the "expert at everything" will be involved.
He should make a meta verse. I still won't buy it, but having 2 of them completely fall flat because a billionaire thought they knew what entertainment was would almost be as funny as that time Sony re-released Morbius in theaters.
Talented people fail to make a career in gaming. Idc how many mines his daddy owned, he's not going to make a good game. Although we should encourage him to do it. Making games would obviously waste the time he uses to harass people.
Musk should buy Bethesda. Gut it like he gutted Twitter. Start development on something random -- the Elder Scrolls VI: Kingdom of Doge.
When it comes out, it will be a horrible, poorly made mess. Just like a regular Bethesda game but extra enshittified. He can charge extra for it to make it seem super premium.
Ah yes, gaming. That one industry you can't really fake past a certain point or everyone will boycott, call it boring or go on strike?
Perfect. Good decisions. Waste as much money as possible. I hope Ubisoft is in on it. Take as many shit-for-brains publishers and devs as you can gather. They forget half of the industry is wearing knee-high socks and cat ears. Propaganda games will go over like trying to sell kale to a shark.
Cannot wait for him to start putting out soon to be classic titles like "Ethnic Cleansing", "Concentration Camp Simulator", and "Deportation Station" to counter the woke libtards.
The good thing about this is that all his money can't buy a good result. Each game has to stand on its own two feet. If it costs millions to make, and still sucks, it will sink without a trace.
